Our Homelife…
Working and living in the same space for most people would be quite a challenge but we’ve been doing it for so long now that it seems like a natural extension of our relationship. We purchased a semi derelict farmhouse in 2017 and we have been renovating it ever since. No one had lived at the house for at least 40 years, so there was much work to be done. The vast majority of the work we did ourselves and we take immense satisfaction and pride when we take time to see how far we’ve come.
We’re very fortunate that we live in such a beautiful and peaceful part of the country, with 360 views extending towards Scotland, the North Pennines and the Lake District. There’s nothing we enjoy more than having a fire pit at the end of a long working week, allowing our stresses to melt away, whilst we watch the sun go down.
Catherine keeps a very productive vegetable garden, which is shared with her six chickens. the eggs from the chickens are shared with neighbours but only after they have been used for Catherine’s other joy, which is baking. Jamie, on the other hand is always busy with projects, such as converting our old horse trailer into a camper for summer festivals. He also loves tending to the shrubs and flower beds in the garden, it’s a work in progress but whose garden isn’t?
